Barri Gòtic (Gothic Quarter) is the old city of Barcelona, on the east side of Les Rambles. It was built primarily in the late 19th and early 20th century, though several buildings date from medieval times. Remains of the squared Roman Wall can be seen at various locations. It is a labyrinth of narrow streets and squares, with quaint shops, cafes, bars & restaurants. Barcelona Cathedral & the Palau de la Música Catalana are found in this area. El Call, the medieval Jewish quarter, is also located within this area.
